The International Friction Welding Conference (IFWC) is a newly combined international event designed for researchers, engineers and industry professionals with an interest in friction welding. IFWC will combine the 14th International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding and the 6th International Symposium on Linear Friction Welding to cover a broad range of friction joining and processing techniques. 

While maintaining the strong sense of community and technical depth that the International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding is known for, IFWC will now also include sessions on a wider range of friction welding technologies—bringing together specialists from across the entire field.

The programme is designed to encourage meaningful cross-disciplinary exchange, with shared coffee breaks, lunches, and a joint social event offering ample opportunity to connect with colleagues from both established and emerging areas.
